May 28, 2006

Sun, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

On Memorial Day weekend, Big Ernie helped launch Vista's first ever Chocolate Festival.

This tasty, fun-filled weekend teased the taste buds with chocolate vendors, chocolate tastings, cooking contests, bake sales, and ribs, of course! Live music and a food court rounded out this new event. Over 200 vendors participated and 15,000 people attended.

A Sweet Success

The first annual Vista Chocolate Festival was a sweet success. A cool balloon-decorated tent hosted the Chocolate Village, filled with an old-fashioned bake sale, a nouveau chocolate fountain (complete with strawberries and marshmallows for dipping), and other gooey goodies, including a Wonkalicious chocolate sculpture.

Drawn in by the Smoky Scent of Barbecue

Big Ernie's Rib Shack cranked out the food all day long, serving generous portions of ribs and brisket. The streets were lined with people of all ages indulging in food, music, arts, and crafts in the warm California sunshine.
