So just where is the Shack?
Well, right now Big Ernie's Rib Shack is strictly mobile, catering private parties and special events throughout Southern California. This is fun and all, but Big Ernie is searching high and low for the perfect place to hang his tongs on a more regular basis.
The sticky details of the City of Escondido's zoning code require a temporary use permit to prepare and/or sell food from private or public property within the Escondido city limits. Unfortunately, without a fixed location, Big Ernie is forced to rely on owner of the property where he parks the Shack to obtain this permit.
The bottom line this. Big Ernie needs one of the following:
- a location outside the city limits,
- a permanant facility inside the city limits, or
- a lot inside the city limits where the owner is willing to obtain the required permit.
Big Ernie knows how to turn ribs until they reach tender perfection. And one good turn deserves another. Spread the word. Help Big Ernie find a place to park the Shack. Your reward lies in knowing that Big Ernie will be there the next time you get that insatiable craving.
